It's been nearly 4 years since I've started working. I was afraid when I started my career but along the way I became confident in what I do. The situation wasn't very good when I started but it was getting better gradually. I was learning a lot from people around me. Life was fill with ups and downs and same goes to my working life. I wanted to leave but for some reasons, I decided to stay when a lot of people were leaving. May be it was the right decision for me. Time fly very fast and before I notice it was already 4 years. I have decided to end one chapter in my career and move on to next one. I hope it is the correct decision. I just want to thank everyone for offering me a hand when I needed and the support I received.

It's been over a year I haven't post anything here. What was I doing past 12 months and why was I so busy?

I have to say, it all started with this project that I am still doing. The project kicked off exactly 12 months ago and since then I didn't really have fun with my life, with my friends. I was always busy, I was always chased by the deadlines and I was most of the time, being angry. I always had to put a devil face at work to drive the project forward and for that I cannot have peace. I need to learn how to handle these kind of things better than this.

I even forgot my mum's birthday and didn't call her on that day. I really don't know how to tell her but I hope she understand me. Why am I so obsessed with my work and why am I forgetting these kind of things which mean a lot more to me then the project that I need to success. Nobody will appreciate me more than my parents do. I can't ever forget my parents birthday from now on, no matter how busy I am and no matter how stressful I am.

Recently, I learn a few things. One of them is letting go. I am a person who attached to something or someone too easily and I've learnt that sooner or later I have to loose these things and those persons. I've understand that I will be alone in life at some point and I need to able to take that. For that I value the friendship that my friends are giving me. For that I try to forgive those who I care yet hurt me. I'm trying my best to have forgiveness to everyone and how to smile more often.

I still have to learn how to forgive people working around me. Try to understand their side of the story. I have to accept that sometimes things are beyond my control and when it happens, I just need to accept the fact that other people are also doing their best.

I have to control my anger. Over the years, I've learnt how to hide my anger and smile at people even though I'm angry at them. But I still need to learn not to get angry easily.

There may be changes coming my way or may be not. But it doesn't matter, I'm not expecting the best to come but I'm prepare to take the worst it may happen. I have to prepare for the next thing, be it good or bad. I don't want to expect too much and being hurt when it didn't actually happen. I doesn't mean that I don't have confident. I'm just protecting me from myself.

Hope things will go smoothly. 2010 was indeed a busy and crazy year.

ဒီရက္ပိုင္း အလုပ္ရွဳပ္တယ္။ ဘာေတြျဖစ္ေနမွန္းကို မသိဘူး။ အလုပ္ေျပာင္းခ်င္ေပမဲ့ ဒီအလုပ္က မခြါႏိုင္ ျဖစ္ေနတယ္။ Project အသစ္တစ္ခု အလုပ္ေနရၿပီ။ ခရီးထက္ရအံုးမယ္။ ဘယ္ေတာ့လဲ အေသအခ်ာ မသိဘူး။ Visa ေလွ်ာက္ပါဆိုလို႔ သြားေလွ်က္ထားတယ္။ Visa ေတာ့ရၿပီ ဒါေပမဲ customer ကမအားေသးလို႔ အစည္းအေဝးကို re-schedule လုပ္ထားတယ္။

အလုပ္မ်ားေတာ့မယ္ဆိုမွ အိပ္ေျပာင္းရအံုးမယ္။ အလုပ္က ျမန္မာတစ္ေယာက္အိမ္မွာ ေနမယ္ဆိုၿပီးမွ ေနလို႔မရေတာ့ဘူး။ အိမ္လိုက္ရွာေနတယ္။ မေန႔က အိမ္သြားၾကည့္တယ္။ စလံုး အိမ္။ သေဘာမက်ဘူး။ အိမ္ေတြ လုိက္ၾကည့္ရအံုးမယ္။ ဒီမွာေနတာၾကာၿပီ။ အိမ္ တစ္ခါပဲ ေျပာင္းဘူးေသးတာ။ အခုေနတာက ဒုတိယ ေျမာင္အိမ္။ ပထမက ေက်ာင္းက အေဆာင္မွာ။ သူမ်ားေတြလို အိမ္ေျပာင္းရတဲ့ ဒုကၡ မခံစားရေသးဘူး။ အခုေတာ့ ခံစားရေတာ့မယ္။

Laptop အသစ္တစ္လံုး ဝယ္ထားတယ္။ Payment approve မျဖစ္လို႔ နဲနဲ ၾကာသြားတယ္။ မေန႔က ဖုန္းဆက္ၿပီး ဒီေန႔ လာပို႔မယ္ ေျပာတယ္။ ရံုးလာပို႔ဖုိ႔ ေျပာထားေပမဲ သူတို႔system မွာ အိမ္လိပ္စာပဲ ေပၚလို႔ အိမ္ကိုပဲ လာပို႔မယ္တဲ့။ ဒီလူက ၆ နာရီက ၁၀ နာရီၾကား လာမယ္တဲ့။ ၇-၁၀နာရီ လာ လို႔ေျပာလိုက္တယ္။ ဒီေန႔ အလုပ္မ်ားေနတဲ့ၾကားက ၆း၃၀ အိမ္ျပန္လာတယ္။ Parking ေရာက္ေတာ့ ဖုန္းၾကည့္ေတာ့ miss call ေတြ႔တယ္။ ရံုးက နံပတ္။ ရံုးက ဖုန္းကို အျပင္က တစ္တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ကဆက္လို႔ ျဖစ္မယ္။ ရံုးက ဖုန္း call ေတြကို ဟန္းဖုန္းကို transfer လုပ္ထားတယ္။ outside call ေတြလာရင္ ဟန္းဖုန္းမွာ ရံုးနံပတ္ပဲ ေပၚတယ္။ ဒါနဲ႔ အိမ္ ျမန္ျမန္ျပန္ေတာ့ အိမ္ကို delivery man လာသြားၿပီ။ ဒီလူကလဲ ၇ နာရီ ကြက္တိလာတယ္။ ၿပီးေတာ့ ဟန္ဖုန္းကို မေခၚပဲ ရံုးဖုန္းကို ေခၚသြားတယ္။ ၅ မိနစ္ပဲ လြဲသြားတယ္။ ဟန္းဖုန္းကိုေခၚရင္ သူ႕ကို ျပန္ေခၚလို႔ ရေသးတယ္။ အခုေတာ့ အားလံုးလြဲသြားၿပီ။ အလုပ္လဲ မၿပီးေတာ့၊ laptop အသစ္လဲ မရေတာ့ဘူး။ စိတ္က တိုေနတယ္။ ဖုန္းဆက္လာတဲ့သူနဲ႔ စကားမ်ားတယ္။

Thank you my dear mum and dad for bringing me into this world and for your incomparable love. I am what I am today because of you!!!

Thank you God for letting me live long and letting me to grow with wonderful parents, friends and family.

Thank you my friends for making me understand you guys more and grow. Thanks for your friendship over the years. May be I didn't tell how I appreciate your friendship but I always had and always will appreciate your friendship.

Thanks to my colleagues for giving me a hand when I needed most.

Last but not least, thank you to those who accompanied me, loved me and gave me unforgettable memories.

Review Of The Decade

The very first decade of the millennium has come to the end in a few hours. I want to look back what I've done and what I had achieved in past 10 years since I had made some critical decision for my life during this period.

The efforts I had put and the decision I had made in the 90s which put me into Yangon Technological University for my first degree. But unfortunately I was put to attend the YTU at Hmawbi GTI by the government and for that a lot of YTU students were unhappy about the facility, the efficiency of the academic staffs and above all, the government educational policy for the future engineers. I was really disappointed with the education system and I was dying to get out of the country to study abroad. During that time, we voiced out our disappointment to the government. We didn't expect the system to be changed in no time but fortunately they accepted our demands, moved us to new place in Hlaing Thar Yar, so called Yangon Technological University, let us attend our six years course and agreed to give us Bachelor of Engineering degree what we initially planned to attend. But one thing that we didn't expect was they try to finish one year course in six month time. May be it was a bad idea but for that I was managed to finish my degree in more or less 3 years time.

During my study in YTU I realized that I can't do much with the degree I was about to earn from YTU. The job opportunity in our country is also not much for me. So I decided to get a second degree from well known university and I started looking for university for my post grad degree. Before I finish my first degree in 2003 I decided to get a Master Degree from Singapore well known university, Nanyang Technological University. As soon as I finished my degree from YTU, I started to apply for NTU and finally in 2005, I was accepted to attend a master degree programme in NTU.

During my study in YTU, I did a voluntary position in Yangon Sailing Club as the Sailing Secretary to manage the club's sailing activities from 2000 to 2004. I was recognized for my service to the club until I set my journey for next adventure for my post graduate degree in Singapore.

It was a good experience for me to study in Singapore. The education system in Singapore is much differ from what we used to in Myanmar. The professor just give us the lecture but we, the students, have to study the lessons and solve most of the problems by ourself. I realized that I had to do everything myself and I realized that I can't rely on anybody except me. For that I did my best to finish what I had started, the post graduate degree. Finally my efforts pay-off and I got my second degree (Master of Science) in 2007.

But the journey didn't end there. Since I finished what I had set, my first goal, I realized that my actual journey is just about to begin. I was started looking for a job. Well, I actually didn't start immediately.

Just after my final exam, I was invited to help in the Asian Games in Doha at the end of December 2006. I worked together with Singapore Sailing team in Doha Asian Games for two weeks. I was able to travel to middle east for the very first time and I was being paid for my expertise.

I took a break and decided to have fun before I enter into new battle that I have to fight till I decide to retire. I enjoyed the new year eve with my friends, I go around and had fun in January and I rested during chinese new year in February. When I decided to start looking for a job, March is about to end and it is time for me to go back to Yangon for the water festival which I pre-booked my flights in November. I came back from Yangon at the end of April. And yet, I was still enjoying myself with a newly acquired girlfriend, I was still having fun after 5 months (after 4 months from exam results) from my final exam.

Finally in October of 2007, I found myself a job. I was so excited to start my very first job and was trying my best to pass the probation period. With the kind help from my extremely nice and helpful senior, I manged to handle the project I was tasked for. I become somewhat good at what I do at the company. For that I would like to take this opportunity to thank my senior who teach me everything when I joined the company and my second senior who helped me make myself confident in what I am doing.

In 2009, I manage to get my very own bike for the very first time. I was sent overseas on a business trip to Thailand. I was part of the a team to secure one of the biggest project that our company every had.

I was able to visit Hong Kong and Macau which I never thought of visiting before. I was able to visit UK for the very first time on business trip. I was able to lead my two men team to UK to inspect the testing with the end user for my client. I was given credit for the work I've done and efforts that I put in for the project by the client and the end user.

I was able to take my dad to the F1 very first night race in Singapore. I was able to give my very first expensive gift to my mum for her birthday. I was able to take my parents for vacation.

To conclude, I am glad and happy with the decision I had made over the decade. I am happy to achieved my first degree from Myanmar and my second degree from Singapore. I am happy with my current job and the nature of my work. Overall, I am happy with what I am today and what I had achieved over the decade.

I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, prosperous and a peaceful new year 2010!!!

Today I've learnt that there is a documentary about our beloved country's military junta's crack down on peaceful monks demonstration in September 2007 over the economic crisis which had effects on the lively hood of the citizens of our nation.

The monks lead demonstration was caused by the increased in the commodities price which was actually caused by the 13% increase in fuel price. The documentary covered the whole incident that happened in September 2007 and it is showing the world that how brutal that the military junta of Burma is. For that the documentary was awarded for several film awards in 2009. The following is the link to its website (Burma VJ).

It's been really stressful at work past few weeks at work. Attending meeting nearly everyday and doing other people's job. I don't want to say that other people are not doing what they are suppose to do but it seems to me some of the people in my team is not doing what they are suppose to do.

I saw people fighting each other and blaming each other on office email. I saw some stupid managers sending out email to everyone saying that he will shut down electricity in certain part of the office on MONDAY. This stupid guy said he has to carry out the work on Monday coz the IT guy cannot come and help him on Saturday. I don't know what some of the stupid managers thinking. This weekend, I can't relax at home peacefully coz people calling me about work and the problems that we had last week is still on my mind.

I'll stop talking about my work and I'll start sharing what I profit from the office mail. Last week my boss send an email to all of us and one of the manager respond to his email. I didn't have time to read the email at that time but when I finally read it, I realized the truth behind the story and I want to share it here so I can come and read it whenever I want to. These are some of the moral story I learn from reading my colleague email.

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, "I'll give you $800 to drop that towel". After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gest to the bathroom, her husband asked "Who was that?"

"It was Bob the next door neighbor", she replies.

"Great" the husband says, "did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?"

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.

The priest nearly had a accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said "Fater remember Psalm 129?"

The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"

The priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak."

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory."

Moral of the story:

If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says, "I'll give each of you just one wish"

"Me first! Me first! says the admin clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world."

Puff! She's gone . . .

"Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life."

Puff! He's gone.

"OK, you're up," the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch"

Moral of the story:

Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: "Sure, why not."

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up!

Lesson 5:

A turkey was chatting with a bull.

"I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree" sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings? replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey packed at a lump of dung, an found i actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:

Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there . . .

Lesson 6:

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enermy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mount shut!

CSIs are coming back !!!!

Its been quite a while I didn't blog. I was busy with my work, friends, traveling, problems and some other stuffs. Didn't able to do much after work either. Sometimes I went out to play badminton with my colleagues, sometime I went to a gym, sometime I came back home early watch some movies and fall asleep before it finish or sometimes went out with my friends, get drunk and do crazy stuffs. My weekends are also filled with things that I need to do or I want to do and obviously blogging is not in my schedule though I wanted to write something.

Today I woke up around 10:30 from the last night drinking at Archipelago then at my friend's house then at the hawker center and then at my house. I drunk beer, rum and scotch whiskey and luckily I didn't suffer hangover this morning. Ohh . . . another thing that occupied me is Mafia War on facebook. I'm totally additive to it and I play whenever I can. OK back to my story. This morning somehow, CSI and 24 was on my mind and I try to think the website I used to watch movie series online. First I couldn't remember the website and I was even thinking of going through my web book mark site to find it but suddenly I remember it. This is how long I haven't watch online movies and TV series. By the way, the website I used to watch TV series is www.sidereel.com

When I visit that site, and I realized that CSIs are back. And I was surprised to see so many new episodes there. So I googled which episodes were aired in US and I found out that only one episode from my favorite CSIs are aired in the states.

Today, I watched all three CSIs (CSI which is the original CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York) and I can't wait to see new episodes which they will air next week. The opening of these new episodes are awesome and the way they present it was very interesting.

I'll talk a little bit about what I watched today. Start with CSI Miami. In previous season, Eric Delko fled the scene and the team is trying to find him. It starts with the man hunt and Horatio Cane was the center of attention. They are desperate to find Eric Delko. Eric was wounded and he was walking in the swamp. Calleigh Duquesne who was in the relationship with Eric was also desperate to find him. The police dog found his jacket and H (Horatio) asked for chopper to find is fellow team member. Finally Eric got to the road side and where he fall down coz of his wound and of exhaustion. The place he fall happened to be the start of his career in the police business. And it showed how this all happen back in 1997 when H and Eric met. While he was fighting for his life in the present time, the director show how he help H solve a crime in '97 and how Calleigh become CSI and how so called special investigation unit in MDPD become Crime Scene Investigation Unit and how H got the sunglasses (he always ware black sunglasses and I guess this is one of his identity in CSI Miami) and how H help Eric become a police officer and a CSI. It was the story about Eric and H in the past or it can say that it was the story about a tow truck driver who at the end become a CSI. What happen to Eric? You should watch it if you like CSI.

After that I continue watching CSI NY. In the previous season, Jessica Angell, detective who was attached to the CSI team died in the line of duty. She was in the relationship with Don Flack (they called him Flack). In the last season it ended when Stella made a speech about Jessica when the team meet up after work at the bar in the grief of Jessica's death and when someone open fire with an automatic weapon in to the bar. This season starts with the same scene at the bar and showed what happen. In the line of fire, Danny was short and he end up in a wheel chair. It also show a bed room scene of Stella and Adam (lab technician) which make me to rewind again and watch it coz I didn't know they are together. This opening episode is interesting coz there are a lot of hidden clues and it is very interesting to watch.

Then I watch the very original of all CSI, the CSI las vegas. It started with slow motion or freezed scene in the lab. There are shooting in the lab, bullets are flying, people trying to take cover, some people got shot, fighting etc. I believe this make the opening episode very interesting coz the lab is the critical place where the story is based on. A lot of things happened in the lab and in all previous 9 seasons it is the important place and it seems that the lab is under attack. At some point in the episode Catherine's leadership was questioned. And guess who's back? Its Sara!!! Yes, Sara Sidle is back when Ecklie called her get a recommendation for new recruit and she decided to come back and give a hand to the team. There are a lot of twist and turns and I believe it is a good opening season. I loved all the CSIs and I'm still loving them.

What have I been doing past few months

Well it's been a few months that I wrote something about myself on my blog. Last time I wrote was in April and it was about my birthday and how I spend it with my friends.

Since then I was really busy with my work. I went back to Yangon in April for thingyan. Before I went back I was also very busy with my work. I was supporting my sales team to secure a multi-million dollar project which I thought the chances to win the project was very slim. Two days before I went back to YGN, I went for a technical clarification meeting and then I realized that we are doing very well and it is 80% likely that we could win the project. The buyer told us that the would let us know the results in 3 weeks time. I went back to YGN for two weeks and on the day I went back to work, I was told that we won the project. I was very happy.

This happiness doesn't come cheap. I was assigned to that project and all my free time was end up executing this project. I worked more than 70hrs overtime in May so that I can reach the deadline for some design documentation together with my fellow colleagues who work not less than me. We always work late till 11pm 12am in the morning for about 4 weeks. So I decided to have a break with my best Friends last weekend.

We drove to Genting with my friends and stay there in Genting over the weekend. Since we are not gamblers we end up in a bar with a bottle of Champagne.

This is how it was happen. We were on our way to the casino and we saw a group of people crowding in front of a bar/restaurant. We were curious enough to stop in front it them and join the curious crowd. It was a Cuban lady making a Cuban cigar. We manage to see how they roll a Cuban cigar and we were very interested. After the lady finish rolling the cigar, my friend told me that if they let us smoke the cigar in the restaurant, we will open a bottle of Champagne and we'll smoke a cigar. Well, we all know that it is just an excuse for us to go into that bar and have our night. So we walk up to the waiter at the entrance and we asked them whether we can smoke a cigar in the bar and the waiter told us that we can and he even said the our attribute are fine to go into the classy bar.

We end up in the bar, ordering a bottle of champagne and some cigar and at the end we end up singing Hotel California with the live band. Smoking cigar while sipping champagne feels so good and it was really great. Most of the people don't dare to do it. I smoke a Cuban Cigar roll by a Cuban lady in Malaysia at the Genting Highland with my best buddies. It feels so good.

And while we were enjoying our time, we remember to thank our parents for giving us this live with this kind of friends. I came here to study in Singapore, I was able to study at one of the best university in Singapore. I was able to find a suitable job, able to give my very first bithday present to my mom, with my very own first salary which made my mom cry for her joy and happiness. I was able to bring my dad to the very first Formula 1 night racing in Singapore asmy dad's birthday prasent.

I had a chance to spend my birthday on the highest bar in Singapore with my friends and love ones. Again in the following year I was sipping champagne in the swimming pool with my friends on the beach of Singapore.

This is how my friend tread me, this is how I tread my friends and this is how I live my life. I work like hell (some people think I'm just sitting in the air-conditioned room but believe it or not, it is not an easy job. people run away due to the pressure and work load) and when it time for relaxation, this is how I spend my time with my friends and love ones.

It's been quite a while I wrote something here on my blog. I've been really busy with my work and with my personal life that I don't really have time to write something here. This is what I feel today and I want to share with you all. Especially with my fellow riders.

The bikers say "If you drink, don't drive but you can ride".

It's been a few months that I've start riding a bike and it has been more than one time that I drink and ride my bike. Every time I drink and ride I tend to speed my bike. For the very first time I notice that I was riding more than 120 km/h and I realized that I was speeding.

I went for a biking trip to Malacca with another rider and I rode more than 150 km/h on the Malaysia highway and I felt that I was very lucky after that trip. The day after I got back from Malaysia, my bike broke down in the CBD area and I realized that I was very luck that it didn't happen during my biking trip. My front wheel hub came out and I was able to stop my bike as I was riding less than 40 km/h.

Today, I went out with my friends and I know that there is no road block along my way back home so I decided to drink with my friends. I didn't drink much, only 3 glasses of beer but on my way back I rode like a maniac, cutting through lanes, going through gaps, going through speeding cars. It feels good but it is not safe. I know alcohol make me daring.

Coz of god blessing, I was back home safe and sound but how long the GOD can take me back home? In Burmese saying "အသက္ကို ဥာဏ္ ေစာင့္၏". It means something like "your consideration keep you alive".

So to my fellow riders, think before you do and think before you ride. Happy riding . . .

Again inevitable April is here and once again I have grew one year older. I used to be very happy when it comes to my birthday as I used to expect a good birthday party, presents from my parents and relatives and so on. But when I get older, I don't want to get near to my birthday. Reason . . . Don't want to get older, don't want to spend a lot of money for my birthday yet I used to spend a lot with my friends and love ones.

This year I was sipping Champagne in the pool at the beach with my friends and love one. It was fantastic and I want to thank my friends and to the people who accompany me that fine beautiful day.

I just want to thank GOD for letting me live this long, giving me opportunity to meet so many different people/friends, giving me a good job, a nice bike and last but not least wonderful parents who give me lots of love. And I want to thank my friends who remember my special day and call me, sms me in the name of friendship and love. Really thank to those who send me some really nice presents. I love it and I'll keep it.

Volvo Ocean Race Singapore Stopover

I've heard that Volvo Ocean Race is heading Singapore on their third leg from Cochin in mid December and ever since then I was really excited to see one of the most famous around-the-world yacht race and the yachts.

I was told by a friend that the yachts arrived to Singapore at the end of December and they will be in ONE° 15 Marina Club. When the sails boat arrived there, the on-shore team took over the boats and they were taken to the dock for maintenance & repair and prepare for next leg.

ONE° 15 is located at the Sentosa Cove and it is the newest water front resident project in Singapore and the marina club is located at the heart of it. Let me tell you something about ONE° 15 Marina Club. ONE° 15 offers world-class marina facilities and it is one of the best marina in the South East Asia. It was established in 2007 and membership of the club was opened in 2005. The membership was closed when they reach 3850 members in December 2007. According to their website, the remaining membership will be "by invitation of the Chairman" only and the intital enterence fee will cost S$50,888.

The marina was open to public for Volvo Ocean Race from 8 January to 18 January 2009. The Inport race was conducted on 10 January and I went there to take some photos of the sail boat. When I got there, I suddenly fall in love with the place and we decided to come again next week just to enjoy our day there. On 10 January, we manage to get there after lunch and at that time the race is already started. We just go around the marina and found a good sport to see the boat when they come back to marina.

A New Beginning - Happy New Year

Year 2008 has come to an end and we had enjoy the year. Though there we some ups and downs in this year it was a great year as I was able to do the things I want to do, meet the people I want to meet and share the time with the people I want to share. The best of all, with my own hard earn salary, I was able to buy a birthday present for my mom for the very first time and I can feel the joy and happiness of my mom. And I was able to watch the very first Formula 1 night race with my dad. It was my birthday gift to my dad to show my appreciation for his care and never ending long support through out my life. I had some good time watching the race and drinking a few rounds of beer with my dad. I would like to thank God for the wonderful year 2008 regardless of whether they are good or bad. I want to thank my friends for their friendship and my colleagues for their support.

May this new year 2009 brings love, peace, prosperity and the world's economic recovery to end the worst economic crisis around the world. And above all may this year brings health so that all of us can enjoy the our lives.

The year has come to the end and its Christmas again. Not like other years, I feel happy as I was with my old friends and we had lots of fun talking about old times, singing some old songs and best of it we are together again, not for long but at least we are together for the time being.

Christmas is where we spend our time with the one we love and this year I spent my time with the one I love or the persons, the friends I love. I will remember the day and I thank God for giving us this opportunity let us meet again. The number of people living with HIV is continuing to rise in every part of the world. This year mark the 20^th anniversary of World AIDS Day. In 1988 WHO declared the first World AIDS Day in an effort to raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS. There are 33 million people living with HIV worldwide and 30.8 million are adults, 15.5 million are women and 2 million are children under 15 years old.

The figure is increasing and the government and people around the world have the duty to stop this incurable disease. People have to be responsible for themselves in order to protect their love ones.

Me And My Attempt To Visit Thailand & My Weekend Get Away To Malacca

As I mention before that I'm going to Malacca and Bangkok during this weekend and next weekend, I did go to Malacca with my colleagues and it's been a really crazy weekend touring to Malacca, Malaysia. But unfortunately, I won't be able to have my holiday get away from Singapore this coming weekend as the Bangkok International Airport is still under the control of opposition group in Thailand.

This is the second time I attempt to visit BKK with my friends and yet my attempt is not successful. When I planned to go there last month, there was a similar incident in Bangkok and we decided it was not safe to go there as there were public demonstration in Bangkok to protest the Thai government. Luckily we were allowed to reschedule our flights for two times and we did rescheduled to go to BKK this weekend. And again, the demonstration to bring down the current government in Bangkok last few days and they are taking over the airport and grounded all flights in and out of the airport which lead us to postpone our plans.

I was thinking of going to Puket but I'm not sure it is good idea as the situation in Bangkok is not very good at the moment for the weekend get away. The airline is good enough to reschedule our flights not only the timing but they are allowing us to change our destination if we want to visit another country or if we insist to another town in Thailand. We are still thinking where to visit and it is possible that we might visit Vietnum. Things are getting crazy and we are also getting crazy.

Talking about crazy, my weekend was crazy but full of fun. I went to Malacca on the company trip over the weekend. After getting drunk on friday night, I woke up very early on Saturday with a slight headache due to the messaive drinking on Friday night and headed to the pickup point in front of our office. The weather and the traffic conditions were not on my side as we were stucked at the second link for more than an hour and when we reached Malacca the sun was shining and the heat was intense which boost my headache through out the day during the tour. The tour ended when we visit Jonker street after our buffet. We decided to start our own tour at that point and walk around Malacca. After a few hours or walking we got back to our Holiday Inn and start our drinking session which last untill about 4 am in the early moring with 3 bottles of Tequila, one bottle of Chivas, one bottle of Black Label and 8 jugs of beer. It was the craziest night I've ever had with my colleagues. After good night sleep waking up late in the morning I was lucky enough not to suffer the hangover yet I was having the taste of liquor whenever I drunk anything.

Shopping at Mahkota Parade in Malacca was fun and I spent some money in order to feel good again and yes, I felt better after spending some money. Our trip back to Singapore took longer than expected as the traffic jam was too heavy. We spent more than 2 hours queuing at the Tuas checkpoint and finally we were back in Singapore and I manage to get back home only after 1am.

I had some good times with my colleagues and friends and it was fun. I'm looking forward to have my next get away from Singapore and I hope I can have fun with my friends soon. I took lots of photos and I will post them online soon but I haven't decided where to post.

My Black Weekend

These days, things are not very pleasant and I was struggling to keep my head up and keep my self continue standing tall among others. As a result, tremendous stress was developed and my personal life become problematic. I got easily angry with my friends and I've said what I shouldn't say to the people I've known for quite sometime.

I should learn how to release my stress and how to communicate with others including my customers, my suppliers and most importantly, my friends and my love ones. Over the weekend, I got really angry and I argue with a friend, fight with the girl who love me and made bad impression to the newly acquired friend.

Nevertheless, I have to be responsible for my actions and I have to accept the fact that every thing happen for a reason.

I hope things will be getting better and I'm going to enjoy my holiday in Malacca this weekend and Bangkok next weekend.

I've been so busy these days with my work and with my friends and family visiting this tiny island. I wasn't able to do what I need to do for my self but because of them, I had some good time with them.

First of all, I would like to wish my uncle a very happy birthday which fall on 4th of November. and secondly, I'd like to wish two of my so called friends, whose birthdays fall on the same day (11 November). Actually I just realized that today is their birthday. They are my good friend AKS and one of the girl I came to know here in Singapore. Time fly so fast that I don't even know how I got into the month of November. Anyway, I'd like to wish my friend cum my roommate cum my buddy and HER a very happy birthday and many more to come. Though you guys become one year older, I truly believe that you guys become one year more mature. I always remember my friends and my love ones birthday but I don't know why I forgot this time. But I'm sure they will forgive me for not remembering their birthday. Sorry that I wasn't able to give you nice and rememberable present but do believe that you guys will always be a special persons in my life regardless of who you are and what you may had done and what you may do in the future. Ohh, almost forgot one thing . . . May you guys find your soul mate soon and may you guys be able to settle down.

And also I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to my friend YKW whose birthday will fall on 14th of this month and a happy birthday to my friend KCN for his birthday which will fall on 19th November. To YKW, may you find LOVE soon and KCN, may you be settle down with the one you love soon.

Singapore Motor Show 2008

Just in time for Inaugural Singapore Grand Prix, first night race in the formula 1 history, the Singapore Motor Show 2008 kick off. Though this year motor show was not as good as previous years, I had a good time there with my parents. As usual, there are lots of hot models, sexy spots cars and beautiful bikes. 2008 Inaugural Singapore F1 Grand Prix (My Very First F1 Race)

The F1 fever has been high last few days in Singapore as it is the very first night race in a street circuit. People are criticizing the newest Marina Bay Street Circuit for its safety but the FIA official and the Singapore GP organizers are quite confident that this circuit is safe.

Yesterday was the first day practicing on the track and I've seen a lot of spinning at some corners. As it is just practice race, drivers didn't push their car and themself to the limit. They are trying to familiar with the track so that they will have better results in Qualifying Race and on Sunday's Championship.

I'm a bit disappointed with the fence along the race track coz I wasn't able to take good photos. But I believe those fences are necessary for safety reasons. But I manage to take some good photos.

The race circuit park was one at 1pm and first practice race (Formula BMW Pacific) started around 3pm. Then around 4pm, Aston Martin Asia Cup Practice race was started followed by Porsche Carrera Practice race somewhere around 5pm. And another Formula BMW practice race was started around 6pm. Formula 1 first practice session was started at 7pm and finish around 8.30pm for refreshments. Second Formula 1 practice war resumed around 9.30 and first day of Singapore GP ended at 11pm.

Today is going to be the third practice race and the Qualifying round will start at 8pm.

I will update the today event and Sunday race day.

Update

Yesterday qualifying round was full of fun. We've seen Aston Martin and Porsche roaring on the Marina Bay Street circuit. A lot of cars spinning and we've seen some cars crushed into the barrier.

In most of the race track, they use old tyres to use as barrier in every turn. If there's any accident or over shoot the turn, the cars end-up in the tyre barrier and absorb the impact. But in Singapore Grand Prix, the track is surrounded by concrete barrier. But at the turn, in stead of placing old tyres, they put plastic barriers filled with water which can absorb the impact significantly.

We got into the track around 3:30pm and Aston Martin Asia Cup Qualifying is already started. The weather is very hot and people are starting to filling up the seat despite of 40 degree Celsius. There are a lot of shops selling food and F1 merchandise. There are also some bars in the circuit park. But food and beverages doesn't come cheap. A cup of beer range from 8 to 15$. F1 merchandise also not cheap. There are two different types of merchandise, FIA (Formula 1 official merchandise) and Team (Formula 1 team merchandise). FIA merchandise are cheaper compare to Team merchandise. The most famous team merchandise is Ferrari merchandise. Team cap range from 50 to 80$, T-shirt from 60 to 130$, Polo shirt from 120 to 160$, shirt range from 140 to 230$ and jacket range from 150 to 300$.

On the race track Messa was fastest in the qualifying and get the pole position for today race. During qualifying Q3, Hamilton beat Messa time and but on the same lap Messa beat Hamilton time and became the fastest on the track on Saturday qualifying race. It was not a good day for Alonso. Although he set the fastest lap (1:44.506 minutes) his luck wasn't there to place him in the pole position. He had run off the track in the last practice race and damage his car. Though Raikkonen stall his Ferrari engine on the 16th lap, he got the second row start on today's race.

Update for Race Day

Today is the disastrous day for the Ferrari Team and glorious day for Renault and Alonso.

The race was started on time and Massa was leading the race until Piquet (Renault) had an accident and the safety car was deployed. When the accident was being cleared the pit lane was open to the competitor and nearly all the drivers had their early pit stop and both Ferrari went for their pit stops and this is when the bad day for Massa began. When Massa was signaled to leave the pit, the fuel nozzle was stuck in the car and as Massa drove away. The fuel pipe was dragged along the track and Massa had to stop at the end of the pit lane so that the pit crew can remove the fuel pipe and nozzle. From what I can see, it was the fault of both parties (team and the driver). Massa was give green light so he drove off but in a matter of seconds, the light turned to red and Massa never stop. If he stopped there, he would have a good chance to win the race. At least would have podium finish. As a result, he end up at the last position.

Both Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton also drop their position during safety car deployment and had to struggle a lot to catch up to get back to the top positions while Nico Rosberg from Williams-Toyota lead the race. Due to his their pit stops before the pit lane was officially opened during safety car deployment.

When Rosberg was given 10 second pit stop penalty, Alonso took the leading position and lead the race until the chequered flag. Alonso did well on second and third practice races but he had a really bad day in qualifying race and end up in 15th position for race day. But the tables are turned and Alonso took the lead of Singapore Grand Prix. This is his very first championship winning for this season and third podium finish.

Nico Rosberg finish second and Lewis Hamilton third. Kimi Raikkonen was following in the fourth place and just before the race finish (only 4 laps remaining) he crushed his car into the barrier and drop out from the race. A really bad day for Ferrari and congratulations to Renault and especially to Fernando Alonso on his victory.

My New Desk & My New Speakers

Recently my office was selling used office desks and I was manage to get one. And I decided not to share my room with a roommate.

I have a confession to make. I'm always obsess with latest technology and news gadgets. I can't use my hand phone for not more than 1 year. I always update my browser whenever there's a new one available on the net. Now I'm trying Google Chrome. Yesterday my flat mate took me to Funan and showed me BOSE speaker system. I was really impressed by the crisp clear sound quality of BOSE Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System. And today I can't help myself from buying this speaker anymore and end up buying it. It feels really great after spending some money.

I know this obsession of mine will harm me sooner or later and I have to control myself from letting myself do what I want to do in the future.

2008 F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix

I've been really busy these days and I wasn't able to collect my F1 ticket at the designated collection point which was expired on 31 August and it was moved to centralized location since early September. Yesterday I decided to go to Suntec City to collect my tickets even though I am recovering from flue. I manage to get the ticket and it is really different from what I thought I would get. The packaging is quite nice and also the ticket (day pass) is very nice.

This is how I got to buy the ticket. Last year when FIA announced that they will have a circuit in Singapore and when I told my dad about it he said wants to come and watch the F1 in Singapore. At that time I was also keen to watch it. But this year when the actual ticket sales started and when I heard the actual price, I don't really want to go and watch from the grandstand anymore. It is freaking expensive. My dad told me to buy two tickets for him and for his friend and he also told me not to buy the ticket if the price tag is too expensive. But when I told him the price, and it is too expensive for me, he told me to buy the ticket anyway. But unfortunately, his friend is not sure whether he'll be coming here for the race. So I have to accompany my dad and end up buying 2 tickets to Singapore F1 very first night race in the history of FIA. I hope it will be worth what we are paying for.

Ohh, DAD, this is my birthday present for you. I hope you'll enjoy my present and I hope we will enjoy the race.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of brutal crack down pro-democracy movements let by student leaders by the notorious Burmese Army. Innocent civilians marching on the roads of Yangon and around Burma, asking for the freedom and democracy were gunned down by the brain-watched soldiers.

For those behind this merciless act are still enjoying their lives, sucking the blood (wealth) of our country and becoming millionaires. As it has been 20 years, may be they forgot the crime they had committed 20 years ago but we can still see the blood on their hands. Some of them already paid their crimes but most of them are still well and very alive. They won’t be forgotten and they definitely won’t be forgiven.

This year, some of my close friends have graduated from their respective classes and universities. Most of the received Master Degree and some of them finished their first degree. Some of them just received their degree during 2008 Convocation at NTU and some are flying to another conutry to receive and attend the Convocation.

I would like to extend my congratulations to Aung Win Myat, Nang Win Ei Chaw, Kyal Sin, Aung Khine Soe and all those beautiful girls gratuated from School of Computer Engineering. And also a special congratulations to HER on her completion of her Master Degree. Although SHE wasn't able to attend the class of 2008 convocation, I would like to congratulat her for the hardwork she has done past few years.

To all my buddies and friends, you guys deserve the degree you earned. Finally your hardwork is paidoff and now you guys possess another tail behind your name.

Branded Perfume Warehouse Sale

Last week a friend of mine told me that there is a branded perfume warehouse sale at Ubi Tech Park. I was really interested in it and told her that we will go there on Saturday. Today we manage to go there.

After a long wait for a friend at Golden Mile Complex, we had spicy Thai food for lunch. After that we went to 10 Ubi Crescent Lobby B #07-30 Ubi Tech Park Singapore 408564 to find out this interesting Warehouse sale. Here in Singapore, there are a lot of such warehouse sales. Last month, there was Levis warehouse sales but actually it was the rejected merchandise and I wasn't able to find any 501 there. Other warehouse sales were also not worth to go. But this warehouse sale is quite worth it. Today me and my two friends went there and we bought 9 bottles of different perfumes worth more than 350$.

The following is the list of perfumes we bought today.

Don't get it wrong, I didn't buy all those perfumes. As I mention before, there were 3 of us and I bought only a few bottles.

After we got what we want, we went to Robinsons and check the price of the perfumes. Indeed the price we bought is 50% less. Same packing, same goods yet 50% cheaper.

It is really really cheap and I recommend that it is worth a visit. Take a Bus no 63 from Eunos MRT. You can find a lot of branded perfumes there and the best thing is it is cheap!!!!

I've been really busy at work over the weeks and I couldn't find a spare time to post anything on my blog for quite a long time. I wish I could split myself into two so that I could do two things at a time. Problem after problem at work and best of it, boss call a meeting at 6:30 pm on Friday! I was really tired and boring in the meeting room for 2 hours. And he concluded saying we'll meet tomorrow clearing all the punched list. So I ended up working on the beautiful Saturday morning till 7pm in the evening. I hope you guys are having better day than mine.

After tiring design work, I went out with my friends for night scene photo shooting. I'm not a professional photographer but those are some of the photos I took last night.

Last week I've received the following PDF file in my email accounts. After looking at the file I feel very sorry for my country. When China was hit by the devastating earth quake, the Chinese government showed the world that they care about their people even though there is no democracy in their country. UN comments their action as "SWIFT & EFFICIENT". On the other hand UN chief was really disappointed with the Burmese Junta over their actions in the past weeks.

A few weeks ago, I had a lot of problem with my laptop I've been using for nearly 3 years. Though it is a good PC which normally don't give me any trouble at all started to give me a few problems last year when I went back to YGN. I tried to burn some music CD so that I can listen to some of my favorite music while I was in YGN but the burning process was failed every time I burn. I realized that my CD writer is spoiled already. After 2 years and 10 months from the date I bought my PC, I face some monitor problems. The monitor just dim while I was using my PC. I tried so many things to get it back to normal but it can last only for a few minutes. So I decided to call IBM support.

Luckily my laptop is still under warranty. I receive 3 years international which I thought it is just a normal warranty. When I called the IBM service center, the officer told me that one of the technician will call me on the next business day and yes, they called me back. After asking me what exactly happened to my PC, this lady told me that they will send a technician to my house on the next day and he will repair my PC on the sport. And the best of it, she said it is totally free of charge. Then I told her that I won't be at home during office hours so she said they can come to my office to repair my laptop. Next day, a guy showed up at my office and and the repair my laptop. He told me that my LCD burned out and that's why the monitor was very dark and I can barely see what's on it. After the repair when I told him about how noisy my fan is, he tried to clean it for me but unfortunately, after cleaning the fan, the system wasn't booting up anymore due to fan failure. He said he will come back with a new fat and a new CD-RW combo drive tomorrow if they have stock.

Next day, he showed up again and he fixed the fan and exchange my CD drive. It was very fast and every thing was free of charge. He even told me that if my machine wasn't under warranty at the moment, I will have to pay about 1000S$ for the LCD panel. It is damn too expensive humm. But luckily, I don't need to pay a cent at all. A simple "THANK YOU" and a hand shake was the only thing I had to give him.

What I want to say is, the importance of the warranty. And the service provided by IBM. The machine is not only better than other brands, they also offer a great service. Normally if something happen to your machine, you need to go to service center to repair it. But for IBM, they come to your home, office, anywhere in Singapore to repair it on the sport with adequate spare parts. Thanks to IBM, my durable, rigid IBM ThinkPad T43 is back in business.

FIGHT AGAINST TIME (HELP BURMA!!!)

It’s been 6 days since the cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar and the situation is getting worse day by day due to the decomposed animals and human lying around the effected areas. Recent days, we had witnessed the generosity of the world as the humanitarian aid in millions of dollars. But it is very sad to find out that Burmese government is hesitating to grant visa to UN aid workers and NGOs in the name of politics. It is not the time for politics during the time of humanitarian crisis. And it is very sad to hear on news that the western nations are willing to provide the aid needing by the cyclone Nargis victims while Burmese government is refusing to accept them.

Today first UN aid plane has landed in Yangon International Airport after 2 days delay due to the visa issues. And more planes are waiting permission from Burmese government to land in Yangon. Italy, Thai, India and Indonesia aid planes had been allowed to land in Yangon. We have seen the death toll increasing dramatically over the days.

What we desperately need is experience aid works and rescue units to help the survivors, to dispose the dead bodies properly and to control the deadly diseases. We need helicopters to go to the most remote areas where the aid is greatly needed. In Burmese air force, we have limited numbers of helicopters and they won’t be able to help those from remote areas. US military is offering aid mission. The US airbase in Thailand is ready to send its helicopters and ships to Burma for search and rescue mission. And again, Burmese generals are not going to accept the offer because they are Americans. This is not the time for like or dislike. This is the time to save as much people as we can.

I was so surprised to see that dead people being dump into the rivers. I’m wondering what they are thinking. It won’t solve the problem by throwing the dead bodies in to the river. In fact, it will endanger the people who are living along the river bank with deadly diseases.

In a matter of days, the death toll will increase again. This time it is not going to be devastating force of the cyclone Nargis, but it is going to be the poor health care and reluctance to accept the aid workers around the world by the generals of Burma. And this time the government will also be responsible for the dead of tens of thousands of Burmese in Burma. Their ignorance to the early warning of the cyclone Nargis and reluctance to accept the aid from around the world will be the main cause of people dying in our country. And we will never forget how people are being killed during 1988, September 2007 and May 2008.

Bye Bye April

April, the month of expense. Yes, I had to spend all my salary on this month. Treating my friends, doing some guy things and try to repair my things. My phone just die on me and it cost me a lot of money to repair it. Drinking, eating and having fun also cost me a lot. Ohh yeah, I had a VIP treatment at Attica. Opened a bottle MOET & CHANDON Champagne and drunk with my buddy. It was a wild night yet we had tons of fun. April was a month fill with fun. I had a great time this April. But at the same time it gave me a lot of bad things. One example, my phone was broken. Later I realized that I was turned down for the amount I was asking for my salary increment. And this week I realized that my laptop is dying on me. The LCD is not working anymore and I don't know how much I have to spend on it. Lucky that my 3 years warranty is still valid till next month.

Well hopefully May will bring better conditions for me. And April, good bye and I'll see you again next year. Better be good next year though.

People say time fly so fast and I have to agree with that. Time indeed fly very very fast. April has always been a month to remember for me. And yes, it was a month to remember for me this year. But I have to admit that it wasn't as special as last year.

Recalling my memories to last year April, when I got back from YGN, she was there waiting for me to change my life. I still remember the moment we had that day and they day after that and the very bluey Saturday, 28 April 2007. And the moment I punched the wall. I wasn't thinking anything at that time and I don't even know why I hit the wall. But to tell you the truth, it hurts. I especially miss the moment before I hit the wall. It was an incredible moment in my life. It was so good that I don't think I could ever forget.

After all those sweet things, here come the bitter part. The train ride to Cityhall MRT station was very hard for me and coming back home alone was the worst part. Well, I can accept the fact that there is always two sides on every situation, always two stories. From one side it might be sweet but on the other hand it might be a bit bitter.

Well, what done is done and the past will always be in the past and we have to accept the fact that we can't change it back. We can't glue a broken glass back to its original condition. Even though we can put it back together, it won't be the same anymore.

This morning a friend of mine send me a few songs and one of them is a song by Mariah Carey and it's called "Bye Bye".

Public Transportation

In this tiny island country of Singapore, public transportation is vital for general public. To own a car here in Singapore is relatively expensive compare to other countries. We can even say it is more expensive then Burma. In Burma, the initial price of a car is more expensive then here but there is no ERP (Electronic Road Pricing, which deduct money from your Cash Card every time you pass the ERP gantries), road tax, COE, etc. After adding up those costs it can be said it is more expensive to own a car here in Singapore. So most of the people use public transport which is quite convenient.

But from time to time, the very famous Public Transport, MRT need a break from its service. A few months ago, two service trains collide which led to the break down of MRT services for about 6 hours. The worst thing was it happened during morning rush hour which cost inconvenience to thousand of commuters.

And from time to time, when people are tired of being a human beings with tons of problems, they tried to end their lives in the public places like MRT stations and let other people to suffer for their problems.

Monday usually is not a very good day for me as I used to have problems on Mondays. Last Monday, I was on my way to work. I saw a train approaching to the station while I was still under the station but I saw a man running for that train. For me I don't want to run for the train early in the morning coz there are plenty of train coming in 2 minutes interval during rush hour. So I continued working normally and I was planning to catch the next train. When I got to the platform, another train was approaching. luckily I manage to get a seat for my 30 minutes journey to work. I plugged in my earphone as usual and started listening some music and tried to pass the time by playing games.

When we approached CCK MRT station, the train stopped at the middle of the platform. The train doors never opened for quite some time. But later there was an announcement on the Train PA system. I didn't realized as I was listening some loud music. But later I was learnt that the train hit a man which cause the delay. Later the train lights and air-con were turned off and after waiting in the train for about 5 minutes the SMRT employees asked the passengers leave the train from the front train carriage. After a few minutes later the train service disruption message was shown on the monitors in the station. The SMRT employees tried to clear the passengers from the platform manually as they are going to remove the body under the train. Instead there should be announcement on the station PA system to let the people know that the shuttle bus service will be available at CCK bus interchange. They should let the passengers know were to go and where to wait for the shuttle buses. Instead, they were playing prerecorded message on their PA system which was very confusing and which was very soft for us to hear it clearly.

I decided to leave the MRT station and decided to find a bus to continue my journey. The bus interchange was already packed with people so I thought if I pay a bit more, I might be able to get to work sooner which was really a stupid idea. After I left the MRT station I had to wait for more than 30 minutes to get a taxi. The taxi companies put me on hold while the tried to find a taxi for me. After calling a few taxi companies I finally managed to get a taxi. I finally reach my office around 9:30.

It all happed at 8am. Due to the poor manage of SMRT, we were stuck in the MRT for 5 - 10 minutes. Again due to the poor management, we were waiting on the platform wondering what will happen for another 10 -20 minutes. I don't know why they didn't mange to make the informative announcements on their PA system. One thing for sure, SMRT sucks in emergency management situations.

ဒီေန႔ ဒီေမးခြန္းကို ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အႀကိမ္ႀကိမ္ ကိုယ့္ကိုကိုယ္ ေမးေနမိတယ္။ အခ်စ္ဆိုတာဘာလဲ၊ မင္းဘာေၾကာင့္သူ႔ကို သတိရေနရတာလဲ။ မင္းသူ႔ကို တကယ္ခ်စ္ေနၿပီလား။ ဒါမွမဟုတ္ အရင္အခ်ိန္က ၾကည္ႏူးခဲ့ရတဲ့ အခ်ိန္ကို တမ္းတေနတာလား။ ဒါေပမဲ့ ေသခ်ာတဲ့အေျဖကေတာ့ ထြက္မလာခဲ့ဘူး။

What are we here? Why are we here and what are we for?

We are brought to this wild wild world for a reason or sometimes coz of a mistake. But anyhow, we are here already and we have grown up to this age. Most of us had been taught what they called education for life. Perhaps it is a foundation for our life or may be not. But we were forced to attend some schools, collages, universities, etc. And you know what, past 28 years of my life, I had receive some form of education for my life. I will call it resources.

Some people segregate this resources and use it with the help of a machine called BRAIN. Sometimes we made some good decision but sometimes we made some bad ones. Sometimes we use it for good and sometimes the other way around.

At a corner of my life, I had come to know something called LOVE. I think it was love but I was really damn sure that it was love. But now I think again and ask myself. Was it love? What do you think? It was my old days. And I don't think it was love. Perhaps I liked her. And times flies very fast and here I'm, in this tiny island and once again I was in love.

After some painful lessons, I've learnt that people define love in their own sense. They interpret in their own way. I think love is a circle but my friend think it is a square and another guy said no, it has 5 sides and he called it pentagon. And there she is and she define as hexagon. Another beautiful girl told me it has 10 sides. Now we have something similar in shapes. It is getting closer to what I called circle. Obviously it is better that a square.

Today for no reason, I felt very lonely. And I felt someone could be here with me but that someone would never know that I'm needing her. But what done is done and we can't change it back.

Well back to my questions, What are we here? Why are we here and what are we for?

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ဒီတစ္ပတ္ရံုးပိတ္ရက္မွာ 2008 Singapore IT Show ကို ေရာက္လို႔သြားျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ လူေတြ အရမ္းမ်ားမယ္ဆိုတာလဲသိတယ္၊ ပစၥည္းေတြလဲ ဒီေလာက္ေစ်းေပါမယ္မဟုတ္မွန္းလည္းသိတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ သြားျဖစ္ေအာင္ကို သြားျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ သြားတုန္းကေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ့္အတြက္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ လုိတာေလးေတြ သြားဝယ္တာပါ။ ဒါေပမဲ့ သူငယ္ခ်င္းေတြက ဟုိဟာၾကည့္ေပးပါ၊ ဒီဟာၾကည့္ေပးပါဆိုတာနဲ႔ ေနရာစံုေအာက္ေရာက္ခဲ့ရျပန္တယ္။

ကၽြန္ေတာ္လိုခ်င္တာေလးေတြလဲ ရလိုက္ပါတယ္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္က Mp3 player ကိုသတ္သတ္ေဆာင္ေလ့ကရွိဘူး။ တယ္လီဖုန္းက player ကုိသာ နားေထာင္ေလ့ရွိတယ္။ ႀကိဳးတန္းလန္းနဲ႔သြားရတာကိုလည္း စိတ္ညစ္လာတာနဲ႔ Stereo Bluetooth Headset ကိုဝယ္မယ္လို႔ စိတ္ကူးရွိခဲ့တယ္။ ဒီပြဲမွာဝယ္မယ္လို႔ စိတ္ပိုင္ျဖတ္ထားခဲ့တယ္။ အဲလိုနဲ႔လိုက္ရွာရင္း Motorola S9 Bluetooth Headset ကိုဝယ္ျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဒါတယ္ဘဲလားဆိုေတာ့မဟုတ္ေသးဘူး။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ဒီမွာေနတဲ့ ၃ ႏွစ္အတြင္းမွာ Thumb Drive တစ္ခုပဲ ရွိခဲ့ဘူးတယ္။ အဲဒါကလည္း Laptop ဝယ္တုန္းက အလကားရတဲ့ 128MB Thumb Drive ေလးပါ။ အခုအခ်ိန္မွာ ဘာမွသံုးလို႔မရေတာ့ဘူးလို႔ စိတ္ထဲမွာ ျဖစ္ေနတယ္။ အဝတ္ေလွ်ာ္စက္ထဲလဲ ထည့္ေလွ်ာ္ၿပီးၿပီ။ ဒါနဲ႔ 8G ေလာက္ရွိတဲ့ Thumb Drive တစ္ခုေလာက္ေတာ့ ဝယ္အံုးမွဆိုၿပီးၾကည့္ေနတာ ေတာ္ၾကာၿပီ။ ၿပီးခဲ့တဲ့ IT Show တုန္းက 8G Thumb Drive က ၁၂၀ ေလာက္ရွိတယ္။ ဒီႏွစ္ေတာ့ ေစ်းက ထက္ဝက္ေလာက္က်သြားတာ ၅၉$ ပဲေပးရတာနဲ႔ ဝယ္ျဖစ္ခဲ့ျပန္တယ္။

ဒီႏွစ္ IT Show မွာ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ကံက ပံုမွန္ပါပဲ။ ဒါေပမဲ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ့သူငယ္ခ်င္းေတြက IT Show ဆို ကံေကာင္းတတ္ ၾကတယ္။ ဟိုးတစ္ႏွစ္က သူငယ္ခ်င္းတစ္ေယာက္ 40GB 2.5" HDD ဝယ္တာ 80GB ရခဲ့တယ္။ ဆိုက္လူေတြ မသိပဲနဲ႔ ေပးလိုက္တာေလ။ ဒီႏွစ္ေတာ့ ေနာက္သူငယ္ခ်င္းတစ္ေယာက္ Sony ကထုတ္တဲ့ DSLR camera ဝယ္ခ်င္တယ္ဆိုတာနဲ႔ ဒီေန႔ IT Show ကို ထပ္ေရာက္သြားရျပန္တယ္။ အဲလိုနဲ႔ပဲ 1399$ နဲ႔ camera တစ္လံုးဝယ္လိုက္တယ္။ ပစၥည္းသြားထုတ္ေတာ့ ေပးတဲ့သူက မွားၿပီး 1699$ တန္ camera ကို ထုတ္ေပးတယ္။ Free Gift ေတြလဲေပးတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ free gift ေတြက ပါသင့္သေလာက္မပါလာဘူး။ အဲဒီ camera ဗူးကိုေတြတာနဲ႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ free gift ေတြကိုစိတ္မဝင္စားေတာ့ဘူး။ ေပးတဲ့ camera ကိုသာ အသူယူၿပီး ျပန္လာခဲ့တယ္။

အဓိက အေၾကာင္းကေတာ့ လူေတြ အရမ္းမ်ားလြန္းေတာ့ ဆိုင္ေတြကလည္း အမွားအမွား အရြမ္းရြမ္းေတြ ျဖစ္တတ္ၾကတာပါ။ ကံေကာင္းတဲ့သူေတြကေတာ့ ကံေကာင္းၾကတယ္ဗ်ာ။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ ဘယ္ေတာ့မွ ပစၥည္းတစ္ခုခုကုို အလကားရေလ့ရွိဘူး။ ဒါေပမဲ့ ဘာလိုမွန္းမသိဘူး ကၽြန္ေတာ္ဒီေန႔ ေပ်ာ္ေနခဲ့တယ္။ ေစ်းေရာင္းတဲ့သူေတြ အဲဒီလို အမ်ားမ်ား လွဴႏိုင္ၾကပါေစလို႔ . . .

BAD DAY

Today is one of the bad day in my life. The day started with problems. I forgot my phone and I only realized when I reached the MRT and I had to go back home and get it as I know that I will need it today. Which forced me to take a cab for work as I'm already late. As I didn't have a good night sleep, I wanted to sleep on the cab due to the unexperienced cab driver, my journey to work wasn't pleasant. It took longer than it should be due to his lack of experience and I had to sit in the cab about 2 minutes for him to calculate the cab fair manually as he don't know how to operate the cab meter. What ever I do wasn't good enough on this Monday. On my way to a meeting, again I forgot my phone on my desk and again there's another unexperienced driver taking us to Tuas which cost me more than it should be. I was caught in the rain and the supplier I thought how's not coming to our office was already there at the office. As my equipment was not working properly the supplier had to take it back for repair which will going to cost me some delay.

But luckily, I got a free ride home as my colleague offer me a ride. Is it getting better as I got back home? As usual, I have to reset my router in order for me to surf the net. But it is getting better. And I hope it will be better tomorrow. And I really do need a better day as I have to test one of my equipment for client test on Thursday.

A Day In Changi Exhibition Centre

On 23 Feb 2008, I was accompanied by some of my good friends to Singapore Air Show at Changi Exhibition Center. Some of them are very eager to go there. I don't know the exact reason why they are so energetic to there. Perhaps the attracting forces of the female counterpart. I headed to Pasir Ris around 9.30 from my house and I got a call from one of my friend that there is a long queue at Pasir Ris Bus Interchange. Too long that we won't be able to make it to the air show sooner than 1pm. So we decided to meet at Expo MRT to take an alternative way to get to the air show which will cost us $5 per trip. Due to our noisy stomach, we then decided to fuel up before we go to the air show. By the time we finish our branch, it is nearly 11pm and the queue at Expo MRT is getting long. Fortunately the queue moved quite fast. Buses come in every 2 or 3 minutes, not only one bus but two or there buses. We can imagine how much SMRT made on those two days for running the shuttle bus service.

Finally we arrived at the air show. But unfortunately we missed the aerobatic flying display of F-16s. But I was managed to take some good photos of the latest and largest passenger air craft, the famous A380. The super jumbo jet was flying over the exhibition center like an eagle soaring the sky. I thought it will be noisy when A380 is flying over the sky. But we can barely hear the jet engine noise. We went around the Static Aircraft Display Area for quite some times. There were some famous fighter jets like F-16, F-18, F-15, B-1 bomber, AC-130, mid-air refueling air tanker and many more. We manage to have a closer look at A380. I had a chance to see the cockpit of Korean fighter jet which looks similar to F-16. By the time we headed into the indoor exhibition hall we all were so thirsty and I found out that they are selling beer near the back entrance so I decided to pay $8 for a cup of beer. Seems everybody made quite a fortune during the air show. Yet I was satisfied after drinking a super cold beer thought I had to pay $8.

I had a chance to old the real SAR-21 rifles. And also latest innovation of ST Kinetics, like ST Kinetics Compact Personal Weapon. It use 9mm ammunition in a long magazine. I also had a chance to hold the Sub-machine gun which is quite heavy and the power of its trigger is also very powerful even without the recoil force of the bullet inside.

We came back around 5pm from there. Outside the air show exhibition center, people are queuing for the shuttle bus. Again we decided to the the $5 shuttle bus. My friend who took the free shuttle bus told me that it took around 30 minutes to reach Pasir Ris from the air show and told us not to take the free shuttle bus service. There were a lot people there, outdoor display area, indoor area, at the bus stop. Take a look at some of the photos I took during the air show. Once again, the famous Singapore Airshow is coming very soon. Singapore has hosted the Asia's largest airshow for 26 years and it is the largest airshow in Asia and it is the third largest Airshow in the World. This year the Airshow has moved to the new location called Changi Exhibition Centre. The Airshow will be held from 19 - 24 February 2008. The publich viewing will be on 23 - 24 February from 9:30am to 5pm. As we all know, nothing is free in this world so for those who wants to see the lastest aircrafts and military technologies, better buy yourself a ticket on their website. Adult will have to pay 20S$ and kids are liable to pay 8S$ per ticket. Each ticket will cover the booking fees, GST and shuttle bus from Pasir Ris Bus Interchange to exhibition site and return.

Shuttle bus services are also available outside the Expo Station but it is not going to be a free service. Each trip will cost you 5S$.

If you are going with a Taxi, this is what I found on the official website "During all 6 days of the airshow, all journeys commencing from the exhibition site taxi stans are subjected to a S$8 surchage".

So better buy ticket online and print out the e-ticket.

This year, 14th February didn't mean anything but it has been my happiest Valentine's Day in my whole life. Although I don't want to get out of my bed and prepare to go for work, I was so busy on my way to work. And I was so happy today. I don't know why I was so happy but today has been a great day for me. I hope all of you had a great day too.

I found this photo from my friend's blog and I feel like I want to post it on my blog as it reflects my feeling and what I've been through. I was hurt once and It took some time for me to recover. This morning while I was cleaning my mail box, I realized that I got a mail from my University mailing group and I was curious enough to follow the link and give a few hours of my time to watch the movie from that link. The movie I watched this morning is about fast food or should I call JUNK FOOD! In this documentary movie, McDonald's was sued for the health of two kids who ate McDonald's for a long time. And McDonald's lawyers asked them to give evidence that the actual cost of the health of that two kids were cost my the giant fast food chain. And they failed to do so and eventually they lost the case.

In the movie, a guy name Morgen eat only McDonald's for 30 days. He had his breakfast, lunch and dinner from food and beverages available from McDonald's. 30 DAYS straight. Before he did that, he went to see 3 different doctors and did medical check up, seek medical advice and receive medical supervision for this project. According to the medical test reports, he was very healthy, good BMI (Body Mass Index). His blood test results were also good. He had good cholesterols level, liver was functioning properly, blood sugar level was good and he was in perfect health condition.

So he started eating McDonald's everyday. Whenever he order something, he was asked for up size. That means, you will have more soda (soft drink, Coke, etc.) more fries. What do they contain? Soda contains lots of sugar, fries contains a lot of fats which will effect your cholesterols level. And of coz, the burger itself contain all of those mention above.

After eating McDonald's for about 10 days, he gain about 17 lbs. He had to do medical check up periodically to monitor his health. And the test results were not very good. His health deteriorated. After 20 days, he was in a pretty bad shape. At the end of the month, he gain more than 20 lbs. It took more than one you for Morgen to get back to his previous body weight.

Well, we all know that we are not supposed to eat JUNK FOOD every day. But there are people who eat them everyday. But not only once, they eat them 3 times a day or may be more. Do you know why, they makes you additive to it. The more you eat JUNK FOOD the more you want.

For me, I'm not full if I eat burger and fries for lunch or dinner. I simply want more. So I end up eating more burger or order bigger meals. Or eat another time.

Its is shock to find out that previously the schools in the States provide JUNK FOOD for lunch. In the movie a girl order fries and a soft drink for lunch. She said potato fries are her vegetables. You might call it fruits, you might call it vegetables but at the end it is fries which mean it has to go into the boiling oil. That doesn't sound so healthy. I guess now a days, JUNK FOOD is banned in most of the schools in the States and same goes for Soda vending machines.

Here in Singapore, a lot of kids hang out at fast food shops and study there. They eat JUNK FOOD while they are studying. Or just go to the fast food shop with friends, chit-chat there, hang out or just go there for day to day meals. Why? coz it is easy to get, they open 24-7.

People say SMOKING KILLS! What about JUNK FOOD? I guess it is same for them as well. It can effect your health if you eat them very often. If you eat fast food very often, like 2 - 3 times a week, it definitely will increase your body weight, not suddenly but eventually and will give you health problem. You won't notice that you are gaining weight. You will only notice when you go to buy a new pair of jeans and your usual size don't fit you anymore.

I recommend you to watch this movie. It is a bit long, talkative or may be a boring documentary if you don't care about your health. For those who care about your health and those who eat fast food from time to time, you should watch this documentary movie. At least you will some ideas about eating fast food. Next time when you are planning to have fast food, you might think how many times did I have fast food this week or this month.

Apology & Forgiveness

Just before Chinese New Year I had a call from my ex-girlfriend. I was really surprised to receive her call. She asked me how I am doing and she told me that as the CNY is approaching, she’s been calling people and asking for forgiveness for all her sins. And she asked for forgiveness. She told me that the Chinese used to asked forgiveness before the CNY as they don’t want to carry their sins to the New Year. For me I really don’t know what to say to her. But I told her that I forgive her. I had no choice but to say so.

Today, I was thinking what she did and whether they were right or wrong. To be frank, some of them hit me pretty badly. But I’m a guy who can’t say on when someone is apologizing to me. I can forgive someone very easily but I’m not they guy who can forget those things easily. May be I hate her for all those things she did but I don’t hate someone that I love, especially her. I rather leave instead.

MRT Disruption on Monday

Yesterday when I go to work, I found out that there's train disruption at the east side but I thought it was not that bad. When I arrive the the Jurong East MRT Station, the platform was crowed with people. When I alight there, platform was already filled with people. A friend who came from Jurong East a few minutes later told me that the station was closed to commuters due to large numbers of people on the platform.

On the radio it is saying that the service train broke down and which cause 7 hour train disruption. But when I found a photo in My Paper this morning, it seems that two service trains collided. Not only people in the east area was effected but also it was aslo effected teh commuters around Singapore. As for me I only saw the stiuation in Jurong East.

Clipper Yachts in Singapore

Last week I've heard that Clipper Yachts will come to Singapore this weekend and I was very anxious to see the Yachts. Let me tell you a few things about what is Clipper Race and how it started. They called it Clipper Around the World Yacht Race.

It was all started with an English man sailing solo around the world and he wanted everyone to have this breathtaking experience of ocean racing regardless of their knowledge, background and level of sailing. In 1996, first clipper race was sailed and since then, it was held every alternative year.

They sail on a 60ft (20m) boat (we called it yacht) with 12 crew members and a skipper (if I'm not wrong about number of crew members onboard the yacht). The skipper is the one who control the ship and he's the only professional sailor onboard the yacht.

The race start in the UK and go around the world and finish back in the UK. This year, they started the race from Liverpool, UK on 16 September 2007 and headed to La Rochelle in France. After that they continued to crossing the Equator and the ocean for the first time before they reached Salvador in Brazil. From there they sailed to Durban in South Africa. From the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa, they crossed the Southern Ocean and headed towards Western Australia port town of Fremantle. From Australia, they headed North to cross the Equator for the second time before they stopped in tropical Asian city state of Singapore.

They reached Singapore on 19 January and they are berthed in Marina at Keppel Bay from 19 to 27 January before they sail out to China.

From Singapore, they will head North to the 2008 Olympic sailing city of Qingdao in China. From China, they will cross the biggest Ocean of our planet. On this lag, they will stop in tropical island of Hawaii and after that they will continue to California, West Coast city of the United States. Then the fleet will head South to Panama where they will cross the Famous Panama Canal. After that they will race to Jamaica. From there they will sail to New York. From there they will go to Nova Scotia, Canada. After that they will cross the Atlantic Ocean heading east for Cork, Ireland. And finally they will sail back to Liverpool, where they started the race, on 5 July 2008.

As it is around the world race, the yachts sail 24 hours non-stop until they reach their destination. They have kitchen, telecom room, etc on the yacht. The victory of a yacht is not who they are as an individual, but as a team. The team work is the most important thing for victory.

I've upload some of the photos I've taken at the marina. For those who don't know, they use their sails and wind to move the yachts forward. They are not allowed to use engine to drive the boat. Depending on the wind conditions, they can travel as fast as a car.

Getting into the Digital SLR age

One of my hobbies is taking photography. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to own a camera and I always wanted to take lots of photos. But unfortunately, my dreams didn’t come true. Though we had one small film camera, I wasn’t able to take pictures as I wish. A few years later, my uncle sent me a Canon T50 SLR camera with a tele lens and I was very happy to receive it. I used to play with that camera as I couldn’t afford the film and the photo development fees. I tried to learn shooting a camera by taking both auto and manual shoots but I didn’t gain much.

Time goes by and when it comes to the digital age, I had a chance to try Sony F717 semi-pro digital camera. Since then, I kinda like Sony camera mainly coz of its user-friendliness. And that’s one of the main reason my very first digital camera became Sony H1. I like it very much and I’m still using it. That camera has a very powerful optical lens. But it took quite a while to learn how to shoot photos with that camera. By the time I know how to shoot, I bought myself a new camera.

And that new camera I just bought is the entry level Digital SLR camera, Canon EOS 400D, from Canon. Let me tell you all about how I got the chance to buy that camera. I was asked to accompany a friend who wants to buy some electronic equipment. When we were there, me and my other friend were hiding the one who asked us to accompany him. Then, by chance, we got into a camera shop and I found the camera I was looking for. Above all, the shop offered me a good deal and also my friend asked me to buy it. At the end, I had to spend quite some money to buy a new camera.

But at the end of the day, I feel so good coz I got what I wanted for a long time. I’ve been planning to buy a DSLR camera but I was planning to buy it only in February. This hobby is actually not an economic one coz we are not going to shop shopping after buying a camera. Now I have to buy a camera bag. I will also need to buy a tri-pod, camera cleaning kit, lens hood, external flash, extra lens, etc, etc. Anyway, you guys will able to see some of my photos in a near future. I’m planning to go for outdoor shooting this weekend and hopefully it will be sunny this weekend.

ဘာလိုလိုနဲ႔ ဒီကၽြန္းႏိုင္ငံေလးကို ေရာက္တာ ၂ႏွစ္ခြဲေတာင္ ေက်ာ္သြားၿပီ။ ဒီကို ပထမဆံုးေရာက္တဲ့ေန႔က ကၽြန္ေတာ့္သူငယ္ခ်င္းက ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ျမန္မာစာ မစားရတာၾကာၿပီထင္လို႔လားေတာ့မသိဘူး ကၽြန္ေတာ့ကို အင္းေလး ထမင္းဆိုင္မွာထမင္းလိုက္ေႂကြးတယ္။ ေနာက္ေန႔မွာေတာ့ ပလာဇာ စကၤာပူရား လို႔ေခၚတဲ့ေနရာမွာ တယ္လီဖုန္းလိုက္ဝယ္ေပးတယ္။ အဲဒါက စကၤာပူမွာ ကၽြန္ေတာ့ရဲ့ ပထမဆံုး ဖုန္းပါ။ ေစ်းအေပါဆံုးျဖစ္တဲ့ zero ဖုန္းကို ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေရြးခဲ့တယ္။ အားလံုးေပါင္းလိုက္ေတာ့ ၃၆ေဒၚလာေလာက္သာေပးရလို႔ ရန္ကုန္ကေဖက အရမ္းတန္တာပဲလို႕ေတာင္ေျပာေသးတယ္။ အဲဒီဖုန္းက အေတာ့္ကို အၾကမ္းခံတယ္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ဝယ္ျဖစ္ခဲ့တဲ့ ဖုန္းကေတာ့ Nokia 3120. တကယ္ကို အၾကမ္းခံၿပီး သံူးရတာ အေတာ္အဆင္ေျပတဲ့ဖုန္းပါ။ တစ္ႏွစ္ေလာက္ေနေတာ့ camera ပါတဲ့ဖုန္းလိုခ်င္တာနဲ႔ အေဖနဲ႔အေမလာလည္တုန္း ကၽြန္ေတာ္ သံုးေနတဲ့ဖုန္းကို အေဖ့ကို အတင္းယူသြားဖို႔ေျပာေတာ့ အေဖက ကၽြန္ေတာ့္ဖုန္းကို ရန္ကုန္ျပန္ယူသြားတယ္။

ဒီေန႔မနက္ အလုပ္သြားေတာ့ ထံုးစံအတိုင္း အလကားရတဲ့ TODAY သတင္းစာကို သြားယူၿပီး ဖတ္ျဖစ္တယ္။ သတင္းေတြကေတာ့ စံုေနတာပဲ။ မေလးရွားက က်န္းမာေရးဝန္ႀကီး အလုပ္ထြက္လိုက္ရတဲ့သတင္း လည္းဖတ္လိုက္ရတယ္။

အဲဒါေတြထဲက ကၽြန္ေတာ့္မ်က္လံုးေတြကိုျပဴးသြားေစတာက ရန္ကုန္မွာ စေလာင္းႏွစ္စဥ္ေၾကးေတြ တိုးေကာက္လုိက္တယ္ ဆိုတဲ့သတင္းပါပဲ။ ျမန္မာလို႔ေတြလိုက္တာနဲ႔ ေခါင္းစဥ္ကို ေသေသခ်ာခ်ာေတာင္ မဖတ္လိုက္ေတာ့ ဘယ္ႏွစ္ဆ တက္သြားလဲဆိုတာ သတိမထားမိလုိက္ဘူး။ လုိက္ဖတ္ၾကည့္ေတာ့ တစ္ႏွစ္ကို အရင္က ၆,၀၀၀ က်ပ္ေပးေနရတာကေန အခု ၁၀ သိန္းေတာင္ တိုးေကာက္လိုက္တယ္တဲ့။ တက္သြားတဲ့ႏွဳန္းက ၁၆၇ ဆ ဆိုလားပဲ။

ဘာမွ တရားဝင္ ေၾကျငာျခင္းမရွိဘူးလို႔ေရးထားတာဖတ္လိုက္ရတယ္။ တရားဝင္ မေၾကျငာတာကေတာ့ မဆန္းပါဘူး။ ေနာက္ၿပီးေတာ့ ဆက္ေရးထာားေသးတယ္။ ဘာလို႔ေစ်း အဆမတန္ တင္လိုက္တာလဲဆိုေတာ့ ျမန္မာျပည္ကလူေတြ အျပည္ျပည္ဆိုင္ရာ သတင္းေတြကို မၾကည့္ေစခ်င္လို႔ပါတဲ့။

စက္တင္ဘာ အေရးအခင္းတုန္းက စစ္တပ္ရဲ့လုပ္ရပ္ေတြကို ကမာၻတစ္ဝွမ္းက လူေတြတင္မက ျမန္မာျပည္ထဲက လူေတြပါ အလြယ္တစ္ကူ ၾကည့္လို႔ရေနတာမို႔နဲ႔တူပါတယ္။ ဒီလုိတင္လိုက္ေတာ့ ေတာ္ရံုတန္ရံုလူေတြ စေလာင္းေတြ ျဖဳတ္ၾကေတာ့မွာေပါ့။ ဒီေလာက္ စီးပြားေရးေတြ ၾကပ္တည္းေနတာ ဘယ္သူက တစ္ႏွစ္ ၁၀သိန္းေပးၿပီး ၾကည့္မွာလည္း။ ႏွစ္ေပ စေလာင္းရဲ့ ကဒ္ကေတာင္မွ တစ္ႏွစ္ကို ၁၀သိန္းမေပးရဘူး။

Farewell 2007 . . .

2007 is going to be end very soon. I want to take a moment to say goodbye to 2007 and look back what happen in this year. As usual, I started the year 2007 with my head spinning around trying to clean up my stomach. Though woke up with a hangover in the morning, I had a great time on the new year's day. I was very happy with my life but it was last only for a few days as she had to say goodbye to me and went back to her place.

Life was so and so in January and February with ups and downs. Many happy moments and many unhappy ones. My very first job hunting begun in February 2007. I was trying to put up a CV for myself which I thought quite good. However it wasn't good enough as some of my friends thought. My very first interview didn't go well and this was one of the lessons I've got. A month had passed and yet I don't have a job but the time for me to go back to YGN for Thingyan was getting closer and closer and I was very excited to go back to YGN.

And then a miracle had happen just before I went back to YGN. I met an adorable girl by chance. It was terrible to leave SG but in the end it was OK. I had a great time while I was in YGN. As usual, I spent my birthday away from home even though I was in Myanmar as I had to go to Chaungtha and give a helping hand. Thingyan was full of fun with my old friends. After that I was looking forward to come back to SG as she was waiting for me.

Next few months was heaven for me as I was so happy falling in love. In June, I lost the only grandma I have as she passed away. This is something what people have to face in life and I had to accept it. I had a chance to meet my parents again in 6 months as they came to SG to attend my graduation ceremony. Yes, I graduated this year, again. And that's when the pressure came in. It gave me pressure to look for a job even harder.

A few months after my graduation was the down time of my life in 2007. I was lonely and things were not very well. And I begun to worry about my job hunting. In September I was offered a job which that company looked down on Burmese people. They offered me a very low salary. I was so frustrated that I was willing to take that low pay job. I guess the lord was with me and the company refused to apply PR for me so I decided to reject their job offer. But finally in October, I was offered a job at the rival company of my previous job offer with much better pay Finally I got a job. I was very happy and so did my parents. Too bad there were no one to share with my joy. I guess that's my luck. Time flied so fast that now I'm writing this very post as the year is going to end pretty soon.

Let me take this opportunity to thank for all the good thing and bad thing happen to me in 2007.
First of all, I like to thank Santa for bringing me all the Christmas present, regardless of good or bad. I sincerely thank god for letting me find new things in my life, giving new experiences which I had nerve had before, giving me and my parents the opportunity to attend my graduation ceremony, giving me suitable job and last but not the least, good health. And I also want to thank my parents for all their support and love. Mom, I wish I were there when you needed me.

To all my friends, may you all have a year fill with love, peace, happiness and prosperity. Above all, may you all be healthy so that you all can fulfill all your wishes.

Science Centre သို႔ အလည္တစ္ေခါက္

ဒီေန႔ သူငယ္ခ်င္းတစ္သိုက္နဲ႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ Science Centre ကိုေရာက္ျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဒီတစ္ေခါက္ေရာက္တာဟာ ဒုတိယ အႀကိမ္လို႔ ေျပာလို႔ရပါတယ္။ အရင္တစ္ေခါက္ ေရာက္တုန္းကေတာ့ Science Centre ပိတ္ထားတာနဲ႔ အျပင္မွာသာ ေလွ်ာက္ၾကည့္ျဖစ္ခဲ့ တယ္။ ဒီတစ္ေခါက္ေတာ့ အတြင္းေရာ အျပင္ပါ ေလွ်ာက္ၾကည့္ျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ Kinetic Garden ထဲမွာ ကေလးေတြလိုပဲ ေလွ်ာက္ေဆာ့ျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။ အေတာ္လည္းေပ်ာ္ဖို႔ေကာင္းပါတယ္။ ဗဟုသုတလည္း ရတယ္လို႔ ေျပာရမွပါ။ တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕ အရာေတြဟာ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ သိၿပီးသားေတြ ျဖစ္ေပမဲ့ သတိမထားေတာ့ ဒါေတြက ဒီလိုပါလားဆိုတာကို မသိၾကဘူး။ ဥပမာ တစ္ခုေပးရရင္ စေလာင္း (Parabolic Dish) ႏွစ္ခုကို၊ တစ္ခုကိုတစ္ခု တည့္တည့္ခ်ိန္ထားၿပီး အလယ္တည့္တည့္ကေန တစ္ဖက္က စကားေျပာတဲ့အခါမွာ အျခားတစ္ဖက္က ၾကားရတယ္ဆိုတဲ့ principal ကိုပါ။ Parabolic Dish ရဲ့ focal point ကေန အသံလွိဳင္းေတြကို လႊင့္လိုက္တဲ့အခါ သူနဲ႔ တည့္တည့္မွာရွိေနတဲ့ ေနာက္ Parabolic Dish ကျပန္ဖမ္းေပးၿပီး သူ႔ရဲ့ focal point မွာနားေထာင္ေနတဲ့သူကို ျပန္ၾကားေစတာပါ။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔အားလံုး အသံလွိဳင္းဟာ တည့္တည့္သြားတယ္ ဆိုတာကို သိၾကၿပီးသားပါ။ ၿပီးေတာ့ အသံလွိဳင္းဟာ အရာဝတၱဳတစ္ခုကို ထိမွန္ၿပီးရင္ ျပန္ကန္ထြက္တတ္တယ္ဆိုတာကိုလည္း သိၾကၿပီးသားပါ။ ဒါေပမဲ့ ဒီလို စေလာင္းႏွစ္ခုနဲ႔ စကားေျပာလို႔ ရတယ္ဆိုတာကိုေတာ့ လူတိုင္း သတိမထားမိၾကပါဘူး။

ဒါတင္မကပါဘူး၊ တစ္ျခားစိတ္ဝင္စားစရာေတြလည္း အမ်ားႀကီးရွိပါေသးတယ္။ Jurong East MRT ကေန လမ္းေလွ်ာက္ရင္ ၁၀မိနစ္ ေလာက္သာေလွ်ာက္ရၿပီး ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ကို အသိပညာေတြ အမ်ားႀကီးေပးႏိုင္တဲ့ Science Centre လိုေနရမ်ိဳးကို တစ္ေခါက္ေလာက္ေတာ့ ေရာက္ေအာင္ သြားၾကည့္သင့္တယ္လို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တိုက္တြန္းခ်င္ပါတယ္။ အဲဒီမွာ Omni-theatre ဆိုတာရွိပါတယ္။ ဒီတစ္ေခါက္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔သြားတာ အခ်ိန္မရေတာ့တာနဲ႔ မၾကည့္ျဖစ္ခဲ့ပါဘူး။ ေနာက္တစ္ေခါက္ထပ္သြားၿပီး omni-theatre ကိုသြားၾကည့္ပါအံုးမယ္။ Science Centre ကိုသြားမယ္ဆိုရင္၊ မနက္ေလာက္ထဲကသြားသင့္ပါတယ္။ ဒါမွ ျပထားတဲ့ ျပခမ္းေတြကို အစံုအလင္ ၾကည့္လို႔ရမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ကေတာ့ ၁၀နာရီေလာက္ထဲက သြားဖို႔ျပင္လိုက္ၾကတာ ေန႔လည္ ၃ နာရီမွ ေရာင္သြားလို႔ ညေန ၆နာရီ ပိတ္ခ်ိန္မွာ မစံုမလင္နဲ႔ ျပန္လာခဲ့ရပါတယ္။

Motion Sickness

Last week I went to a trip to Malaysia with a bus. There were 11 of us and we had a great time in Genting. (Only bad thing was some of us loose money in the Casino). Even though I went there with my boss it was really fun. Ohh my poor boss also has a big big boss. Feel so sorry for you boss. The theme park was also fun though I wasn't able to ride the little boat due to weight limit. :( Ok enough of this and go back to the topic.

Before we came back, we had lunch around 12 noon and the bus depart around 3pm. The weather was misty and just before the bus departs it started to rain. So down-hill ride on the bus was not very pleasant for some of the passengers. One of us had a car sick. (Motion Sickness).

There are so many motion sickness and car-sickness is one of them. Motion sickness is found in Wikipedia as "Motion sickness or kinetosis is a condition in which a disagreement exists between visually perceived movement and the vestibular system's sense of movement. Depending on the cause, it can also be referred to as sea-sickness, car-sickness, simulation sickness, air-sickness or space sickness."

Motion sickness occurs when the body is subjected to accelerations of movement in different directions or under conditions where visual contact with the actual outside horizon is lost. The balance center of the inner ear then sends information to the brain that conflicts with the visual clues of apparently standing still in the interior cabin of a ship or airplane.

The most common hypothesis for the cause of motion sickness is that it evolved as a defense mechanism against neurotoxins. The area postrema in the brain is responsible for inducing vomiting when poisons are detected, and for resolving conflicts between vision and balance. When feeling motion but not seeing it (for example, in a ship with no windows), the inner ear transmits to the brain that it sense motion, but the eyes tell the brain that everything is still. As a result of the disconcordance, the brain will come to the conclusion that one of them is hallucinating and further conclude t hat the hallucination is due to poison ingestion. The brain responds by inducing vomiting to clear the supposed toxin.

Since I was a child, our family used to travel every summer either to Mandalay or Shan State. As a child I never had car-sickness while travelling on the narrow winding roads. It doesn't mean that I don't have motion sickness. When I started sailing in the sea I had a little bit of sea sickness. I was very young and I didn't spend much time in the sea so, the sea sickness was not very severe. But when I was 15, I often had sea sickness when I was sailing in the sea. But after a few years later, I can stay in the sea for a long time, I can even sleep on the boat without having sea sickness.

I know what's like to be having a motion sickness and I have sympathy for those who suffer the motion sickness. My advice to those who use to have motion sickness are, look to the horizon while traveling on a small boat or ship, look to the distance where the movement of the object is less, don't look down into the car or ship or the vehicle, try to sit-up, etc. Ohh another thing is don't eat too much if you know that you have motion sickness. Take some pills that can prevent motion sickness, such as medication which can ease the dizziness, for instant, B6.

Do TISSOT have QC Department?

These days I was really busy at work being chased by deadline after deadline. Working late at night and really tired when I get back home. A few weeks ago, one of my friends asked me to accompany him to buy a new watch for him and unfortunately, I wasn't able to help him in choosing a watch for him. A few days later he told me that he bought a new shiny TISSOT. Looks great, I even try on my wrist but to be honest, it is not my taste.

And a few days later, he ask me to do a favor for him as he's going overseas. What do you think he asked me to do? Do you know what, he asked me to repair his brand new watch. He told me that his watch HOUR HANDS are not pointing to the correct index on the dial. Confused?, I hope this example will clarify, let's say it is 4pm. Normally, hour hand is pointing to 4 on the dial and the minute hand is pointing to 12, right? In his case, at 4pm, hour hand is pointing exactly between 3 and 4 on the dial while the minute hand is pointing correctly to 12.

If you look at the watch at a glance, you won't notice it. But if you are really looking for the time, you might notice it. When I tried his watch, I was just checking whether it looks good on my wrist. Didn't actually looking for the time so I didn't even notice there is a fault on his watch.

If you don't get what I'm saying, you probably would say "Why don't you just turn the hour hand?" Can you turn the hour hand without turning the minute hand on your watch? No, right?

My friend told me that he went to the shop sold the watch to him and asked them to repair the watch. I wonder why he never asked for one-to-one exchange for the watch. After all, the watch is not a cheap one. He had to pay nearly damn 400$ for that faulty watch. So I was told to go to the service center to repair the watch. And it is not laying somewhere in the TISSOT service center in Singapore.

When I was waiting in the lobby of TISSOT service center, I was wondering, "IS TISSOT HAVE QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!" If they do, this watch would have never come out of their QC DEPARTMENT!!!!!!

UPDATE

Today I called to Swatch Watch Group Singapore and they told me that I have to wait for 6 to 8 weeks to repair the watch. They even told me that they will send the quotation for the repair. Damn. . . Not giving them a cent man. Bought a brand new watch, didn't have a chance to wear it. Send to service center and now end up waiting for the damn watch to repair. Dear my friend I feel so sorry for you man. You should have ask for one to one exchange. You should have take your girlfriend to the shop you bought the watch when you went there to repair the watch.

This morning I found a DVD in my friend's room and the title of the DVD caught my attention and I can't help myself wanting to watch that movie. It is Love Actually starring Hugh Grant and lots of famous actors. It is funny, romantic and it is about Christmas. After watching that movie I realized what I really want for this Christmas. This movie show love between parents and children, husbands & wifes, boyfriends & girlfriends and between friends. I'm glad that I watched it today for the second time even though I knew I've already watched this movie a long time ago. I recommend you to watch this romantic comedy movie from the makers of Notting Hill and Bridget Jones's Diary. This is the very famous soundtrack from the movie "All I want for Christmas is you by Olivia Olson".
